✨ Meeting Dr. Ruth Graf at the ISAPS World Congress 2025 in Singapore ✨Dr. Kim Jae Woo

From June 18 to 21, 2025I, Dr. Kim Jae Woo, had the privilege of attending the ISAPS (International Society of Aesthetic Plastic Surgery) World Congress

in Singapore πŸ‡ΈπŸ‡¬.

This global event brought together world-class plastic surgeons and researchers

to share the latest advancements in aesthetic surgery.

It was a truly enriching experience where I learned, connected, and felt inspired on many levels.

🌟 1. Meeting Dr. Ruth Graf

One of the most unforgettable moments was finally meeting Dr. Ruth Graf, a renowned plastic surgeon from Brazil.

Back when I was a third-year resident, her groundbreaking paper on glandular flap redistribution left a lasting impression on me. That paper became a foundation for my own practice in upper pole support techniques in breast surgery.

Until this congress, I had only read her work in journals and textbooks πŸ“š.

But in Singapore, I had the rare opportunity to attend her lecture in person and even ask her questions directly.

πŸ‘‰ Hearing her insights face-to-face was incredibly inspiring, and it reaffirmed the passion I’ve carried for breast surgery innovation throughout my career.

🌟 2. Realizing We Are Doing More

Another eye-opening moment came during the sessions on breast reduction and mastopexy.

Most presenters shared experiences based on 30–50 cases gathered over several years.

In contrast, at our clinic in Korea, we have performed significantly more cases within a shorter time frame.

This realization gave me tremendous confidence. I understood that by systematically organizing and analyzing our surgical cases, we can produce high-quality research and contribute valuable data to the global plastic surgery community.

In fact, earlier in 2025, one of our studies was accepted for publication in the Aesthetic Surgery Journal (ASJ)

the official journal of the American Society of Plastic Surgeons.

With this achievement, I became even more determined to continue publishing meaningful research in the years to come.

🌍 Looking Ahead

The ISAPS World Congress 2025 was more than just a professional meeting —

it was a milestone in my journey as a surgeon.

  • I met one of my greatest academic inspirations.

  • I gained new insights to apply in the operating room πŸ”¬

  • And I confirmed that our clinic’s experience is at the forefront of the field πŸ₯

This congress motivated me to keep striving for excellence, both in surgery and research. I look forward to contributing even more to the advancement of plastic surgery worldwide.

✨ Thank you for reading — and I hope to share more exciting milestones in the future! ✨
